End of June 2020
This week we have enjoyed lots of water activities as it has been so hot. The children made a car wash and splashed in the bubbles while washing the cars. We froze some sea creatures making large ice cubes from the water, watching them melt in the sun and learning what happens when cold and hot temperatures are added to water. They also had races with the cotton reels down the ramps seeing who was fastest. Through all of this, we have made sure we are hydrated by talking about drinking plenty of water when it is hot and sitting in the shade to cool off.
On Thursday we took part in the 'Big Toddle' for Barnados and enjoyed exploring the grounds looking for fairies and gnomes. A big thank you to everyone that sponsored their child!
We are enjoying creating our sensory tent and are looking forward to adding to it over the coming weeks
Even though our day is slightly different, we are still having lots of fun keeping very busy. The nursery has a deep clean and all toys and resources are rotated daily, to minimise the risk of cross contamination and to keep the children and staff as safe as possible. The children are loving singing our song when washing their hands frequently throughout the day. We are still sharing stories with the children and having cuddles when needed.
The garden is set up with activities ensuring we are meeting each child's wellbeing and supporting their development. The children have enjoyed planting vegetables and flowers, going on bug hunts, water play with lots of bubbles and riding and climbing on the large apparatus. We are also going on walks exploring the wider outdoor spaces on our site. We are relaxing, looking up at the sky to see what shapes the clouds are and then talking about what we have seen.
We can't wait for more of you to join us back at Snowflakes as we have so many exciting activities planned.
