Looking at all the amazing photos below, we are sure you will agree that October at Snowflakes has been a brilliantly busy month. We can't actually believe how much we have done!
Our new water play system is amazing. Lots of hosepipes, water tables and pumps and levers definitely = a lot of FUN!!! We have also been busy giving our nursery dolls lots of baths, they have never been so clean!
There have been new lights fitted to the Disco Room at Big Fun House, and so every morning involved a boogie in the disco.
We have loved celebrating Halloween and had the best party ever with JellyBaby Entertainer. We played lots of brilliant games and our children all dressed up and had a wonderful time.
April and May 2018
We got caught up in all the excitement of the Royal Wedding and made some fantastic crowns as well as having lots of fun with the colours red, white and blue. As always, we spent lots of time playing outside and used things we found in our gardens to incorporate into our activities such as leaf painting. Playing with water outside is always a favourite activity, along with messy play.
Our flower and vegetable garden has had a makeover and looks brilliant! We can't wait to see the things we have planted grow. So far, we have planted runner beans and tomatoes and are excited to taste them when they are ready to eat!
February has been full of messy play at Snowflakes which we love to do. We have also been doing lots of painting - and in particular loved using the leaves we have been catching in our creations. We have been baking - as much as we love baking, we love eating the yummy things we have made even more! As always, we make the most of our time in Big Fun House. It is such a great place to explore for everyone and a fantastic place to learn to take your first steps!
Well, if January is anything to go by, 2018 is going to a brilliantly busy year at Snowflakes! We have been on a couple of excursions which we all loved - so great to go exploring. We had so much fun on the bus and spent ages having 'pooh stick' races over the River Stour. Back at Snowflakes, we have been busy baking and loved our imaginary play with our farmyard activities. We have made some fantastic creations including bubble paintings and amazing masks to celebrate Chinese New Year and as always, when it's cold outside, we love getting cosy in our story corner. We continue to enjoy 'Golden Time' which is definitely one of our favourites times of the week. We also love our weekly sessions with our friends 'Musical Bumps' and are learning new songs and activities, We love playing outside all year round, and January has been no exception. Lots of fun activities including water play and playing in our mud kitchen. We have had a lot of fun on our bikes and ride-ons navigating our way around an obstacle course. This year, we are going to be having lots of fun working our way through the National Trusts list of "50 Things To Do Before You're 11 3/4's." We have been 'catching a falling leaf' and so along with 'play pooh sticks' that is 2 activities ticked off the list in January. We can't wait to enjoy all the different outdoor activities this year - and will be posting all our photos so that you can share in our fun!
Michael Rosen's "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" is one of our favourite stories, and this month we went on our very own bear hunt, searching for 'Emily the Bear.' It was brilliant fun and so lovely to get out and explore all our brilliant outdoor space at Snowflakes. We have had lots of fun painting this month with brushes and rollers as well as with our hands and our feet! We made some Easter Bunnies and Chicks which were so cute. As always, we spent lots of time outside playing with water and in our mud kitchen.
Books, books, books - lots of lovely new books for our story corner which we are loving reading. August has been a brilliant month! We made the most of the gorgeous weather and went out on a little outing. We went for a lovely walk along the river and had lunch in the cafe at Morrisons. We got the bus back to Snowflakes which was so exciting! As always, we spent lots of time in our gardens playing and when we were inside, we were busy doing lots of fun activities. We really liked making pizzas and choosing what toppings to add. And eating them was even more fun!
June and July 2018
We have loved being outside so much this Summer! We have an amazing new mud kitchen and have spent lots of time playing and making the most fantastic mud creations. They almost look good enough to eat (but not quite!!!) Our planting and Veg area has been keeping us busy, we have been watering and digging and watching everything grow. We have been picking our tomatoes and beans and they all tasted super yummy! We have been making ice lollies and have loved eating them to keep cool in all of this baking hot weather. We love celebrating birthdays at Snowflakes with a party and playing party games.
Inside, we have been busy doing lots of activities getting our bigger little ones ready for starting at school in September. Our displays have been all about starting school and also about Summer and we made some lovely Graduation hats for our nursery leavers to wear at their Leavers Party. The Summer always feels a bit sad when it comes to saying farewell to our children that are leaving Snowflakes to start school. It has been such a huge privilege getting to know them and watching them develop and grow. We will miss them all dearly but know they are ready and excited to start the next exciting chapter in their lives when they go to school in September. We look forward to keeping in touch and hearing about how brilliantly they are settling in.
We did a sponsored bounce and were sponsored by our friends and family who were so so generous - a big thank you!
We have bought some brilliant new things for us all to play which you can see in the photos below.
We are loving playing with the new things to go in our sensory baskets and the train table is super popular.
We have been on some amazing nature walks exploring the land around Snowflakes and learning all about our natural surroundings.
